Medical Oncologist Job OpeningArizona Veterinary Oncology (AVO) is pleased to announce that we are growing and have an immediate opening for a Medical Oncologist. This full-time position is unique in that it is a private practice service within a veterinary teaching hospital. The successful applicant will receive the benefits of both private practice service (and paid production) and a veterinary teaching hospital setting. We are currently seeing patients at this location 2 days per week and want to increase to 4 days per week.
Oncology can be an incredibly stressful profession. Whenever possible, we try to have fun with our patients and with each other. We try and make our interactions a positive one whether it’s with a member of our team, a client, or a patient. Sometimes, our appointments take a little longer because we find when we slow down and take our time, our patients and clients feel more comfortable. At AVO, we value every client, every patient, and every employee.
Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine graduated its inaugural class of DVMs in 2018. These graduates scored higher than the national average on the NAVLE and are receiving glowing praise from new employers about their job skills. MWU students are trained within a gorgeous veterinary teaching hospital and partner with highly qualified practices around the valley (not a distributive model). Arizona Veterinary Oncology is proud to be involved in the training of these students through clinical interactions and lecture opportunities. AVO works alongside the talented MWU surgeons, internists, neurologist, anesthesiologists and numerous general practitioners for hands on learning. There are also additional compensation opportunities for lectures delivered to students with no additional committee requirements.
If you would like to earn a private practice salary but work in a veterinary teaching hospital, AVO may be the place for you. We offer competitive wages, medical benefits, vacation and sick time, a simple IRA program starting day one, and a generous signing bonus.
Besides relishing in 300 days of sunshine per year, the Phoenix metro area is home to all four professional league sports and is a boasting college town with ASU, NAU, GCU, and U of A. Arizona offers year round outdoor recreational activities such as boating, fishing, hiking, biking, skiing, golfing, wineries, resort style living and so much more! Arizona enjoys GREAT temperatures (our average temperature for the year is 72.6 degrees and the average temperature during the winter is a lovely 67 degrees in the valley). Phoenix is still considered a housing market that is still affordable and growing rapidly.
